Yeah, sure I didn’t write a 50K plus novel or revise a whole manuscript, but I did get lots of writerly stuff done and I’m so cool with that. And yes, I had a lot of distractions, being sick, Twitter, kids, being extra tired BUT YET. I pushed myself because I knew there’d be some #WIPmo accountability. There’s no way I would’ve set and met any of my November writing goals without the #WIPmo crew by my side. THAAAAAANK YOU!

2. How your week/November went
My week, as did the whole of November, saw periods of stand still writing progress and moments of surging ideas, writing and researching. Overall, it was a success, as I was able to more narrowly define my story and tweak the main plot and a few subplots. Now, when I get those moments to draft, I will be able to write faster and a bit more lean. (I still get a bit twitchy when I go too long without drafting. On those days, I stay up until about 2:00 in order to let the words out.)
3. What are your biggest writing distractions?
The kids. All seven. And diapers. And etc., (not going to bore you anymore but perhaps too late.)
4. What you’re going to do writing wise, in December–the season of ALL THE DISTRACTIONS. But yay–lots of cookies!
I will savor the goodness of the season and write the shit out of this manuscript.
Also, I will read a minimum of ten books. <–So let it be written, so let it be done.

2. How your week/November went
November went really well. I wrote about 40k words total and finished my first draft. I did no writing the final week, but I did close on a house and move. Since I needed to take a break between writing and editing, that’s OK.
3. What are your biggest writing distractions?
In November, it was the house and the move. In December, probably unpacking, setting up the house. In a normal month? Oh, god. I don’t remember what a normal month is.
4. What you’re going to do writing wise, in December–the season of ALL THE DISTRACTIONS. But yay–lots of cookies!
I’ll probably let my WIP sit before I start the next draft and work on edits for the MS I sent to my agent right before Thanksgiving.

I’m mainly commenting to tell you that I love that you used a TLC/Left Eye gif in this post. My favorite group ever. But I guess I can try to follow the instructions 🙂

Great, great week mostly b/c I snuck in unexpected writing time on the day after Thanksgiving (who needs to shop?). I wrote in a notebook and found it is much easier NOT to check the internet when you are not on a computer. Go figure. Overall, I’m so grateful to you Ami & to all the WIPmo-ers for keeping me going this month. I probably would have fallen off the writing wagon or given up on this MS without your help. It has made all the difference. Now I’m excited to push ahead in December.
3. What are your biggest writing distractions?
Work, family, querying book 1, Twitter, sleep. (I should probably think hard about that order)

I *hope* to finish this MS by the end of December. Work has calmed down a tiny bit and I’ve gotten fired up about my character and my story, so the words are coming faster now. Given that my productivity is positively related to my chocolate consumption, I think the holidays bode well for writing fast (if not for running that way).

Writing while querying (or on sub) is SO hard but once you get an agent (or deal) you’ll be so glad to have another project waiting for you so keep up the good work!

2. How your week/November went My week was pretty decent. I still haven’t gotten to revising WIP chapters BUT I did get the other two projects for my editor done so I’m glad to have that checked off. Overall, November was good. I REALLY am grateful for this group bc I know I got so much more done than I would’ve with all these distractions. Thanks again!!

2. How your week/November went
Week went good, I read five books, but didn’t look at my first draft at all. It needs a couple weeks to simmer down before I tackle revisions. I did write 52k in November, so yay!
3. What are your biggest writing distractions?
Shiny new ideas. These will often hit me when I’m dragging on a first draft and so tempt me to toss out what I’m working on and start something new. This is a big circling drain. I’ve got about six projects in various states of started/completion because of this.
4. What you’re going to do writing wise, in December–the season of ALL THE DISTRACTIONS. But yay–lots of cookies!
Revise my WIP, hoping to have it in CP hands by the end of January. And read more books because I have an idea in a category so far outside my comfort zone that I need to do lots of reading before I even attempt to tackle it.

Good luck on finishing that WIP to be revised in Jan. The upcoming WIP sounds intriguing. 2015 is going to be great–we will probably have to do a mid year WIPmo! 🙂

2. I haven’t checked in a couple of weeks, but I feel good about November. I didn’t do NaNo this year, but I finished a Work for Hire project, and dove head long into novel revisions. I read two YA novels, and participated in my first Book Festival. All in all, a good month.
3. Distractions are aging, ill parents and hormonal tween daughter. LOL. Need I say more? Also, day job.
4. Yeah. December is one big distraction. I’ve got a birthday (my own), a kid birthday to plan, holiday shopping, and MORE revisions–due in early January. It’ll all get done!!
Glad you checked back in Kristine! You did get lots done…nice!! The book festival sounds awesome too.

Hopefully finish revisions before going on submission, and work toward finishing my November WIP. I remember when I thought 50K WAS an entire book. Hahaha, oh to be young again… I also just want to take it easy and catch up on some reading. And learn to sleep at night like a normal person.
