#WIPmo check in. One Week Left!

90210 thumbs up

Hey you! How are you? How’s work? The fam? Getting enough sleep? How’s life? How’s the book?

The book? Ohhhhh yeah, the book! Confession time, I’ve been doing other writerly things rather than working on my book. Yep, I’ve been putting it last on the list. I’d really love to have it complete. And sub-ready. I am SOCLOSE. But more things keep popping up to do (For Liars and Losers Like Us) and then I just *yawns* get so tired and decide I “deserve” the wind-down time, the chill time, etc etc. But here’s the deal, if I have time to lay in bed for an hour and scroll mindlessly through twitter, toggle back to Facebook, google a random question or two, read the latest Kardashian update, I HAVE TIME TO WORK ON MY WIP.

It’s so important to be working on the next thing. If you’ve been busting your ass to make your goals this month and exceeding them, I commend you! If you’ve been doing other stuff that is taxing and you’ve been feeling a bit rundown, I know this feel. I think adjusting your goal this last week to be a little more realistic (especially if you have an extra work load, holiday stuff, or other life stuff happening) THAT IS FINE. AHEM. BUT! BUT! BUT! Do not give up. Do not do the minimal. And I highly encourage you, if you are very close to making your goal, EXCEED IT. It’s okay to adjust your goals to make them a bit more realistic, but that doesn’t mean you need to abandon them. This is our last week. I’d love to see some extra work put in. An extra session on a night you were going to watch TV. A lunch/writing session. A night session with another #WIPmo or #Nano pal. Carve out that time. Finish strong!

One week left, y’all! Let work together to make this happen.

How’s it been going? With LALLU, great! With the WIP. Meh. See above post!
What about this week–what’re you gonna do? Do you got this? I’m going to start this massive revision. YES. Got it.
What are you looking forward to non-writing related this week? A home-cooked meal by my BFF’s dad in Rhode Island. Can’t wait!

How’s it been going? I surpassed my goal for the week, so yay! I am, however, going to revise my goal for the month. I was originally aiming for 70k or a first draft. That’s not going to happen, and that’s fine. New November goal is now 60k. I had some big midstream changes that derailed the original goal, and I’m very happy with them. And I have been writing every single night, even the night I went out to see a Mockingjay double feature, so I’m confident that I’ve been doing my part.
What about this week–what’re you gonna do? Do you got this? I’ve got this. I will have 60k by Dec. 1.
What are you looking forward to non-writing related this week? Food coma, putting up the Christmas decorations, and The Walking Dead finale. All holiday cheer!

How’s it been going? Good. Had to lock myself in the writing room on Sunday, but I hit my goal! Also had a good brainstorming session with my dad – he got a little carried away with his ideas, but it helped me fill in some plot holes. And my skin is slowly getting thicker with each query I send. Yay!
What about this week–what’re you gonna do? Do you got this? Keep on keeping on. I need to front load my writing sessions so that I can spend more time with family over the weekend. Monthly goal in my cross hairs – I got this.
What are you looking forward to non-writing related this week? It’s my birthday on Thanksgiving (40! ACK!) and to celebrate we’re going out dancing on Wednesday night and to Mockingjay on Thursday.

How’s it been going? I was stuck last week, but I feel like I have some momentum going into this last week. On track now for the month now, and I’m feeling pretty good about this story.
What are you looking forward to non-writing related this week? Dinner & wine with friends tomorrow night! Also looking forward to holiday decorating and watching Elf over the weekend. 🙂

How’s it been going? Well. I’m on track to have this ms ready to go out in search of feedback in December (if there are any potential betas/CPs out there, I’m always looking. Please @ me. I love to read for other people, too.), but I’m a little nervous about making it through the final stretch.
What about this week–what’re you gonna do? Do you got this? I think I’ve got this. I’m going to go all little-engine-that-could and think-I-can my way to the 30th.
What are you looking forward to non-writing related this week? Fun holiday events like a christmas tree lighting, the Nutcracker, & a ride on the polar express w/ the soon-to-be 5 y.o. (and maybe wearing kiddo out so mommy can write??) Yet another big THANK YOU to Ami & everyone for keeping me on task this month

How’s it been going? The Girl Before went up on Amazon and Goodreads this week, so that was super exciting! My WIP…well…it’s slow. I spent half the week rereading old stuff and longing for the time when I can work on sequels for those.
What about this week–what’re you gonna do? Do you got this? I…don’t know if I’ve got it or not. I would still like to finish this draft of the WIP this week. But heading out of town so…
What are you looking forward to non-writing related this week? Time with family!
